A true love story about two railway employees who have been sticking to their posts during the Spring Festival has become a real tearjerker and gone viral on the internet.
The video, which generated over 18 million views after it was posted on Weic, shows the young couple's brief meeting of less than 2 minutes at a train platform, during which the boy planned to propose but only had time to thrust a ring box into the hands of his girlfriend.
Hao Kang is a freight train driver at Yulin Station of Shaanxi province, while Lei Jie has served for seven years as an attendant on the train running between Xi'an Station and Wuhai West Station. Sharing the same hometown, Suide county, Shaanxi, the two began dating four years ago, according to CCTV news.
这两趟都经过榆林的列车帮他们定了情。每次雷杰值乘的车经过榆林,郝康都特别激动。
Both of their trains pass Yulin Station, where they first fell in love. Hao Kang would excitedly look forward to every time Lei Jie's train stopped at Yulin Station.
郝康:有时候我就会这样,去瞄一下,看看有没有她。瞄到的时候我就可高兴了。瞄到就跟中彩票了(似的)。
“Sometimes I would peep at her train through the train window, hoping to get a glance of her. I felt like I had won the lottery whenever I caught sight of her,” Hao Kang said.
“She works on the train, and so do I. It is the railway that has brought us together and kept our passion alive. This is our way to hold on to each other,” Hao Kang said.
Hao Kang: “I didn't expect it would be so hasty. I was so lucky to find her with your help. There are many things I wanted to say but didn't have the time. I was about to say, ‘Will you marry me?’ I wanted to tell her that I'd marry her this year. Too bad, not enough time.”
